The Brigade Trail Race is a new endurance foot race intended for experienced trail runners. You can participate as a competing athlete, or by volunteering at one of several aid stations along the route.
The race will follow the historic Hudson’s Bay Company (1849) Heritage Trail used by fur brigade packhorse trains crossing the North Cascades Mountains. Runners will pass through five of the original fur brigade camps between Tulameen and Hope. As historian Harley Hatfield said, “Learn some history through the soles of your feet.”
Racers can start at Tulameen (80 km) or Jacobson Lake (30 km).
The Brigade Trail Race is organized by Heather Macdonald of Mountain Madness, with assistance from Kelley Cook and Vic Sagorski.
Hope Mountain Centre will play a supporting role, coordinating volunteers to help at some of the aid stations along the route.
